As Star Wars' awe-inspiring Scourge nears victory, it's finally letting the Empire and Rebellion know it exists - by starting its own armada.

As Star Wars' horror-tinged Dark Droids nears its conclusion, the villainous Scourge has claimed the Imperial Star Destroyer Chelator for its own, with a terrifying upgrade worthy of a threat that's on track to consume the galaxy, eradicating all sentient life that's not part of its own universe-spanning hive mind.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT In a preview of Charles Soule, Luke Ross, Alex Sinclair, and Travis Lanham's Star Wars: Dark Droids #3, fans get to see the newly christened Scourge 01. Formerly an Empire ship, the vessel has become the base of the Scourge - a viral AI which is currently looking for a way to possess biological life as well as droids.

While the spiky black ship - glowing with the telltale purple of Scourge's influence - is scary enough on its own, the crew make it even more terrifying. Scourge's experiments in fusing biological and synthetic life swarm across Scourge 01, with pale, zombie-like limbs and glowing purple eyes.Scourge's Endgame Has Begun The result of two ancient technologies combining, the Scourge is currently in the process of possessing pretty much every droid in the galaxy.

Scourge's Star Destroyer Is Just the Tip of the Iceberg However, the scales are beginning to tip - while so far the Scourge has been able to hide its true nature, now the Empire and Rebellion have begun to realize what they're dealing with - especially Darth Vader, who the Scourge attacked on Mustafar, hoping to use the cyborg as a bridge to biological life.

Star Wars' heroes and villains are locked in a war against a predator who is close to consuming the galaxy - and they're only just beginning to realize it. As the Scourge shifts onto an explicit war footing, the Scourge 01 shows the power it will soon wield in the Star Wars galaxy if it can't be stopped within a matter of days.
