More than 850 cows that spent months aboard a ship wandering across the Mediterranean are not fit for transport anymore and should be killed, according to a confidential report by Spanish government veterinarians seen by Reuters.

The cows were kept in what an animal rights activist called “hellish” conditions on the Karim Allah, which docked in the southeastern Spanish port of Cartagena on Thursday after struggling to find a buyer for the cattle during the past two months.

“My impression is that they will definitely go ahead with the slaughter and destruction of the animals and it’ll be difficult for us to prevent it,” he said. The Agriculture Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It said earlier on Friday that it would make appropriate decisions after analysing information from the inspection.

The cows likely have severe health problems after their “hellish” crossing, said animal rights activist Silvia Barquero, director of the Igualdad Animal NGO.

DISGUSTING 😩😫😭🤢😖😓

CasaReal YOU ARE A MAD MAN. WATCH REAL MADNESS 👁️

This is no way to treat these poor animals who have already suffered unbelievably. Where is our humanity? They deserve to spend the rest of their lives chewing grass in a field. Those responsible for keeping them on the ship for months must be brought to justice. CIWF_EU rspca

peta PetaIndia are you seeing this

Poor animals

So horrified by this I can barely think. A nightmare and Hell on Earth for these animals What sadists thought up live transport across the ocean to slaughter? This should be banned immediately worldwide. As if high mass slaughter in country of origin is not bad enough. Horrifying

Can I has one pleeeeeeez!?

Absolutely criminal abuse of innocent living creatures! 😥

This is completely unacceptable

Ignorant idiots that reply. These are the rules you stupid cows al back-up by elections Do not complain afterwards. Hundreds of thousands of animals get killed daily for the meat industry. These Cows were lucky that they lived a few days longer.

Jesus Christ. Humans are the worst.

“Euthanasia is the best for their welfare” 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Outrageous and wholey incompatible with modern values.....who owns these animals? They must be held responsible!

That’s insanity and should be stopped! Where are the governments and more over where is PETA!! peta

I was more shocked when I read “vegetarians” in my head instead of veterinarians. Crazy me.

The captain of the ship should be arrested for animal cruelty.

stop supporting the horrible meat industry

please SureshChavhanke someone send some GAURAKSHAKS there.

Reminds me of 'They shoot horses, don't they ?'

Fuck no. That's fucking disgusting.

Consumerism is a bad.

What a shame!!!

thanks for reporting, I'm missing a hint who is responsible for that, or is it the insects that may or may not have infected the animals? JusticeForAnimals CowKillers that's btw just one but pretty good reason to stop eating cows

Disgusting. The company who owns that ship and the people operating it should be charged with animal cruelty.

This is disgusting. These are living, breathing, sentient beings. The abuse is horrific.

Why killed send them into jungle

🤦🏼

Curse them.

Please also put to death the humans who were any part of this “venture”.

Yet another prime example of how wasteful we are with the lives of those creatures deemed 'lesser'.

Absolutely disgraceful...those poor animals, no animal should ever suffer like this. STOP LIVE EXPORTS

🧐 Could this case be possibly related to the new trade sanctions against Lebanon, imposed by 🇺🇸 & 🇬🇧 in December 2020, which target companies that deal with Hezbollah's regime? Just a guess.

Pontifex dbongino We make these big animal sacrifices right before a big human sacrifice. This is a problem for those living underground. People can lose air, drown, or be poisoned. Either way, they cast the spell. Human sacrifice pleases billgatesaz Profits4Power 🌟

WarOnFood

Its unfortunate they can't be put in a quarantine pasture to see if they get their health back, then we can eat them.

This is horrible.

This is horrific treatment of animals💔

Disgusting. God will hold us accountable for all of His animals
