South Side stabbing critically injures man, suspect with felony warrants detained

SAN ANTONIO - A man was critically injured after being stabbed multiple times early Sunday morning on the city's South Side.According to the San Antonio Police Department , officers were flagged down by a 37-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his back and arms. The victim reported being attacked by another man in a nearby ditch.

Police say with a description of the suspect provided by the victim, SAPD's Air Patrol Unit quickly located a possible suspect matching the description. Officers detained the suspect without further incident. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Police shared that during the investigation they discovered the 39-year-old suspect had outstanding felony warrants. He was arrested on those warrants in addition to charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
