Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One Piece showrunner Matt Owens has opened up about a major conflict Luffy will be involved with going into season 2. Season 1 of Netflix's live-action adaptation of the popular manga series covered most of the story's first section, the East Blue Saga.
Season 1 ends with Luffy gaining notoriety. And while it’s something that he wants — he wants to be taken seriously as a pirate in this world — as Nami and Zoro say, this is putting a target on your back. A lot of people are going to know you and know your face. And so that tag at the end is really reinforcing that idea that there are people who now know of Luffy’s existence, and they’re going to try to put a stop to him.
What Challenges Await Luffy In One Piece Season 2? The end of One Piece season 1 teased Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates making their way to the Grand Line. The end of the season also teased the arrival of Marine vice admiral Smoker, who is seen looking at a Wanted poster featuring Luffy. It appears Smoker will be the next big hurdle Luffy and his friends have to get over before they cross into the Grand Line, made more difficult by their newfound infamy.
