Some college internships pay twice what regular workers earn investinyou (In partnership with acorns.)

Forget backpacking through Europe. Scoring an internship during a break from college is key to landing a great job once you graduate.

"They are more important today than ever before," said Jill Tipograph, co-founder of career coach firm Early Stage Careers in New York. And for some of the top internship spots, you can almost double what the average full-time worker earns. Tech companies, in particular, are using internships as a pipeline for hiring and that means offering competitive salaries to find talent, said Amanda Stansell, an economic research analyst at job website Glassdoor. "These interns are not making copies."

During the most recent recession, employers dramatically scaled back. With fewer workers, "you needed to have people who could perform," Tipograph said. Factor in increased automation and some entry level jobs no longer exist, she added, "that means you need experience and exposure before you graduate."

CNBC HA! That’s ripe. Found what, 10 internships that pay, and you decide to cover those rather than the countless unpaying ones? Gtfoh

CNBC keywords: for the summer. they aren’t being paid $96k. don’t let nbc lie to you.

CNBC And not one will apply it to their student loans

CNBC Won’t they be disappointed when they get out in the real world and learn jobs don’t pay that well!

CNBC Some got all, but most got none.

CNBC Well it’s only for ~2 months, right? Then they are back to school. So where is the $96,000/yr?

CNBC Someone should have told me about these rich internships not the multitude of unpaid ones

CNBC Appropriate for students who will have huge student loan debts

CNBC As they get internships for the summer, they'll make 96k/yr? Did one of them get an early start with this headline?

CNBC And they can't pay their student loans? 🤔

CNBC How many, exactly, is 'some'?

CNBC Do they take interns with PhDs?

CNBC They only work two or three months, right?

CNBC And if u are a NRA intern you get free living arrangements off other ppls money

CNBC For those who think that going to school doesn't pay off. 👍👍👍👍 Congratulations!!

CNBC So will people in trades unless they support the slob in office.

CNBC Mine didn't, but I'm happy for those who are paid. If they are good internships as measured by learning, they be worth for the future, too.

CNBC And many more will make zero

It’s time to stop judging people for drinking lattes and getting regular haircuts“Walk 11 miles to work, walk home, gaze at the wall while sitting on the floor eating iceberg lettuce. Got it.' Nope, definitely not. There's nothing wrong with putting time and energy into what you truly love. The trick is identifying all of the garbage that you're expected to support with your finite time and energy that only pleases others. Cut out the crap; you've got lots left over.
