Sharks winger Timo Meier scored his 33rd goal of the season at the 19:23 mark of the second period

to cut the Dallas lead to 2-1. But the Sharks couldn’t overcome a first-period, even-strength goal by Tyler Seguin and a shorthanded marker in the second period by Michael Raffl, as they lost their ninth straight game.

“Losing’s losing, no one wants to lose,” Sharks forward Nick Bonino said. “Personally, I’m proud of the way we have battled the last eight. We don’t look like a team that’s out of the playoffs. Our hunger, our effort, and our execution — we’re playing well, we’re just not scoring as many goals as the other team is.”

“That’s one of the worst parts of this stretch because he’s played well enough to earn wins. Same with ,” Bonino said, “and we haven’t given him the goal output he needs. That’s just on the ice. Off the ice, Kaapo is a great kid and super nice, very mature. He’s fun to be around. Definitely a great guy to have on your team.”

The Sharks fell to 0-5-3 since March 26 with a 5-4 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. Winger Alexander Barabanov, fifth on the Sharks with 37 points in 65 games, was also injured Thursday but has remained with the team, which is flying to Minneapolis late Saturday night.
