Ray was in town with a group of friends, and they were seen on video footage getting into a fight around 1:45 a.m. with another group at the intersection of Greenville and Martel. After the fight ended, Ray and his friends walked across the parking lot, and someone opened fire at them from a passing vehicle, the footage shows. Homicide Detective Tonya McDaniel has said that Ray and his friends did not start the disturbance, and were in Dallas for the weekend to have fun,Another video released by police shows a man in a hoodie and a distinctive necklace standing with a group inside the bar.
Earlier this week, Dallas police requested the public’s help to identify the six men involved in the disturbance with Ray’s group outside OT Tavern. Joseph was identified, as he shares similar facial features as the man who wore the distinctive necklace, which appears to have the letters “YKDV” encrusted on a medallion.from which shots were fired, but was not the shooter.
“Kelvin was unarmed and was not looking for violence,” Sorrels said. “He found himself in a situation that escalated without his knowledge or consent.”
