An Austin woman is suing Sangria Park Apartments , formerly known as Mueller Apartments, after a man broke in through a back door and sexually assaulted her.
The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, says she awoke to the assault and fought back, forcing the intruder to flee through the broken door. Greenberg is representing the victim and argues that the complex's negligence in repairing the broken lock directly contributed to the assault."This case is about a company's failure to repair a broken lock that's required by the property code," Greenberg stated. "Here in this case, we had two tenants who repeatedly reported that this backdoor lock was broken, and the property management company did nothing to fix it.
