A Sesame Street-themed amusement park has apologized and promised more training for its employees after a video showing a costumed character waving off two 6-year-old Black girls during a parade went viral online.

“The Rosita performer did not intentionally ignore the girls and is devastated by the misunderstanding,” the statement said. The park issued a second statement Monday, apologizing again and promising that it was “taking action to do better.” Among those efforts would be inclusivity training for employees.

Sesame Place facing backlash after mother posts video of daughters being ignored by theme park characterA mother is speaking out on social media after she says a theme park character at Sesame Place ignored her children and greeted others. Sesame Place has since released a statement, but the mother alleges the park is just trying to save their appearance. The park has security cameras along the parade route. I think they already know that there is no 'white child' near those girls who got hugged by this character. This feels contrived. Given the big population of minority guests who attend this park, a guilty worker would be gone. Just another Karen looking for views and attention Yes of course. Lol

Sesame Place Philadelphia under fire after Black mother says character ignored daughtersAlthough it appears that the performer had interacted with other children before reaching the girls, the now-viral video seems to show the character shaking their head “no” in the direction of the two young Black girls. The character literally high fives two folk of white descent and than looked at the pretty blk girls said No and walked past. I am not saying it's racism but what else is it Even the babies felt and knew they were intentionally ignored. We need to stop encouraging victimhood. LOL, looks like Rosita played the typical anti black Latina too well. Bonus points if the person in the costume is Latino.
