Since 1965, senators have upheld a tradition of stashing candy in a desk on the Republican side of the Senate floor. This could come in handy during the impeachment trial.

The exact timeline for the trial is still up in the air but under the proposed rules the senators could be stuck in the chamber for up to eight hours at a time.

Why does it have to use both hands for a glass of water? It’s not a sippy cup.

Far more liberal on refreshments than HouseofCommons! Nothing but water (except for the Chancellor on Budget Day), and then only really for frontbenchers. I had no water in the Serjeant’s chair and would often do two hours at a time.
