It is possible that the Seattle area could get to 90 degrees on Wednesday but KIRO 7 chief meteorologist Morgan Palmer said the area would most likely wind up in the upper 80s.
Wednesday will be almost as warm but with a weak disturbance aloft that will move through, we could have a few high clouds to cut down the highs a degree or two.The chance of thunderstorms affecting lowland locations looks pretty slim because of a lack of available moisture, but we’ll be on watch. This is the forecast for some areas:• Upper 80s for Seattle through Wednesday, some 90s south and near Cascades.
On Thursday, the heat will back off a few degrees but it will remain in the 80s for south of Seattle. By Friday and the Labor Day weekend, expect temperatures back to the 70s to near 80 with a few more clouds but also plenty of sun. These temperatures will still be above average for this time of year. Seattle’s normal high for next Monday, Labor Day, is 75 degrees.
As of earlier this hour, the temperature at Sea-Tac has reached 90°F. For those keeping track, this is the 12th day of at least 90° at the airport this year, which ties the record for number of such days. This was last set in 2015.
