Search continues for five-year-old Frank Young, RCMP divers called in

RCMP say he was seen last seen at his home at around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, with another sighting reported of him at the local playground at around 3:30 p.m. that day. RCMP said Tuesday the investigation does not indicate an abduction had occurred and the criteria for an Amber Alert have not yet been met.

Search and rescue teams, including volunteers from the Prince Albert Grand Council and Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers members are on site. “We are expanding our search all over the community,” said Barry McKay, vice-chief of the Red Earth Cree First Nation, who was out in the field.Frank Young, 5, is described as 4 ‘ tall and approximately 66 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen at his residence on Red Earth Cree Nation, wearing rubber boots, green pajamas, and a navy blue jacket.

Members of both the Red Earth and Shoal Lake communities held a meeting Tuesday to organize search plans. Ground search efforts since have focused on two areas — near Young’s home and at the playground. Searchers have also been looking around a large rural area outside of the Red Earth community and on and around the Carrot River.

Young is described as four feet tall and approximately 66 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing Paw Patrol rubber boots, green pyjamas and a navy blue windbreaker-style jacket. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 in an emergency or the Carrot River RCMP at 306-768-1200.The area on Red Earth Cree Nation where a team of searchers is looking for five-year-old Frank Young. Young was last seen at his residence on Red Earth Cree Nation on April 19, 2022.
