The school’s valedictorian says he’s grateful his family could see him accept his diploma. “I feel very grateful and gracious that we had this opportunity,” says Ricky Morales.
School bus drivers in Loveland, OH, lined up 22 bright yellow buses to spell out “2020” in honor of this year’s graduating class. “It’s graduation week!” Loveland City Schools shared on Facebook. “Here’s a special message from our bus drivers to the Class of 2020!” And in Nashville, one graduate was overcome with emotion as he rode through his high school’s drive-thru celebration. A video shared on Facebook shows tears streaming down Dontrail Spencer’s face as he proudly holds up his diploma for his teachers to see."It was just an emotional day for me, to see myself graduate, I never thought I'd see myself in a cap and gown with a big diploma in my hand," Spencer told CBS affiliate WTVF.
As it should be! Students deserve to have some celebration, regardless of how limited they have to be due to the pandemic.
