Schlotzsky’s spokeswoman Madison Stevens said the restaurant will open in the spring or early summer.
The restaurant chain started in Austin, Texas, in 1971. According to its website, more than half of its 300-plus locations are in Lone Star State. Work is underway on a Schlotzsky's Deli at Route 59 and 95th Street. The restaurant will also sell Cinnabon baked goods.The company has more than 200 locations globally, but all are locally owned, according to co-owner Bill Budicin, who lives in Lisle and is part owner of the Pedego shop in Wheaton, which opened last year.
