Or maybe it laid bare the real meaning of “liberal arts”.
Are you seriously gonna do this
We're in the age of finding excuses for bad behavior. Stress. So What We all have stress. But we don't commit crimes ( hopefully ).
Laid bare the sense of entitlement
Give it a break plenty of parents and children do just fine and don’t resort to this evil
parents buying there way into college has been going on for a long time now, Harvard is easy for black people to get in thanks to Obama.
Cool now who are those successful people that dropped out of university and have all those college graduates working for them
This was a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, not a “scandal” and these high profile people were INDICTED, not “ensnared” , this is more proof of fake news , ABC is tragically DISHONEST..
Well, here’s the thing - as an employer, I never cared about the name of the school people went to. Any school is as good or bad as what you as a student put into it. SUNY or Ivy League? Truly never matters in my book.
'....stress of elite college admissions...' As other folks live paycheck to paycheck.
All the more reason to promote vocationalschools & tradeschools and less emphasis on technology, and the over saturated fields associated with computers.
Uhm - not exactly. The scandal lays bare the stress on the college admissions process on privileged lawnmower parents.
They had no stress. They paid their way in.
Bribery and corruption is wrong and we teach our children nothing when we do that. Sad state of affairs indeed when parents feel they need to intervene and enable wrong to “help and support” their children. Money and fame does appear to corrupt and manipulate
Try that stress without the financial means. Why are we feeling sorry for the wealthy? They seem to across the board me terrible parents raising crappy useless kids
Especially if you don’t deserve to be there
How stressful is it to write a check to bribe someone?
yeah poor rich parents.
'Laid bare the greed, selfishness and narcissism that the wealthy families experience to flaunt status, although thier children have access to all of the tools they need to seek entrance to the nation's top colleges'. Fixed it for ya.
And I'm like, why? Networking for a potential future job? The chance to rub elbows with rich kids and meet their rich parents? With no promise of a lucrative career? If your major is so ubiquitous but actual high paying positions are few and far between, maybe pick something else
Believe it or not there's a way to get most of college paid for. It's called the GI Bill.
No it shows how stupid the thought that going to a big name college is important, i never even graduated hs or went to college yet i make mor than a senator. You sheep are simple and laughable. I enjoy watching you eat each other.
Many universities use what they call the holistic approach to admissions. Essentially it’s subjective, which leaves the door wide open for corruption. There are students denied that have better grades and scores than many students who are accepted. Now we now why.
Oh, stop with the mitigation of these wealthy, helicopter parents! Their KIDS should've felt the brunt of any 'STRESS', by actually TAKING the tests! USC is HARDLY worth going to jail over! 😕
If truth were known it has been the norm in every university every college every system ever set up and the money gets results not good ones no body can tell me trudumy actually done university through his own merits impossible.. proper studied learned person can’t be so dumb
May I suggest starting at community college? I could feel the cringe!🙄
You mean the stress that no matter how smart you are or how hard you work, you will be brushed aside in favor of someone with a thick wad of cash?
Really, ABC? This is the spin you’re using?
This is your angle on the admission bribery scandal - that these poor parents are just so stressed!? I promise you the parents without bribery funds are far more stressed!
No stress if you have rich parents willing to pay bribes and cheat.
That’s what you took away from this? Actually it laid to bare to how the overly privileged get into elite colleges. Whether it’s bribery or buying a building.
You mean, for rich families?
It also lays bare the CHEATING & SCAMMING of people already carrying HUGE ADVANTAGE & BLESSINGS. Not fair~ ugly bad.
That's not what was laid bare. Everyone stresses about college admissions. Not everyone pays bribes to get their kids in.
