His business wasa European delicatessen, caterer, restaurant and butcher shop that started in Glendale and later moved to Carlsbad.
Support on Facebook was strong. One person called it a North County institution. Others said it was delicious and said they were hopeful the business would find a way to stay open., which temporarily shut its doors last fall to renovate and comply with licensing requirements, plans to reopen in a new location at 1429 Island Ave. in East Village.
A representative for the brand said the opening date isn’t firm, but they’re aiming for the end of June. Izola, which has earned awards and whose patient fans have waited in long lines for its highly regarded croissants and bread, said in an Instagram post it has been working on new sourdough bread flavors — preserved lemon, tahini and za’atar, and prickly pear, lime and agave.It plans to expand into City Heights with a much larger cafe and headquarters at 3320-3326 Fairmount Ave. designed by— just opened in Rancho Santa Fe.
