A San Antonio man has been sentenced to five years in prison for threatening violence against people who attended a gathering of political conservatives in Florida . Alejandro Richard Velasquez Gomez , 20, posted a message to his public social media profile promising a “day of retribution” against the Student Action Summit , sponsored by Turning Point USA and held in Tampa in July 2022. Turning Point USA is a nonprofit that advocates for conservative values on high school and college campuses.
