Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will cost the global economy $2.8 trillion in lost output by the end of next year, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said.

will cost the global economy $2.8 trillion in lost output by the end of next year—and even more if a severe winter leads to energy rationing in Europe—the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said Monday.

The estimate by the Paris-based club of advanced economies lays bare the magnitude of the economic fallout from Moscow’s invasion of its neighbor seven months ago, the worst military conflict on the continent since World War II, which is Russia’s attempt to redraw the map of Europe by force.

gtconway3d The only good thing to come out of this criminal invasion was Europe awakening before it was to late to the energy extortion that Russia would ultimately employ to have its political demands met. It'll be a year or two rough patch but ultimately Europe will be the better for it.

But.... but.... but.... Biden!!! O_o

The Democrats must be overjoyed at the reduction in fossil fuel use.

gtconway3d All part of Putin's murderous plan.

No - western leaders reaction to Russia’s invasion cost that amount

gtconway3d So about what Putin has stashed away…..

gtconway3d bidenpricehike

It is sinister and absurd to dump everything on Russia.

The U.S. foreign propaganda is really sophomoric. The Russia-Ukraine conflict was instigated by the U.S and the world's economic recession is the biggest culprit of the U.S. and the West's ineffective prevention and indiscriminate printing of money.

gtconway3d And the people who will make the money will be the 1% of the population who don’t need it …

gtconway3d But the Republicans will blame it on Biden and their followers will believe them. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Well thank Biden

It's not Russian invasion, Blame the warmongering US UK EU NATO Zelensky. This is a USA proxy war, Money laundering through wars. Spending taxpayers' money on armaments, large private corporations, shareholders will make huge money,

gtconway3d Someone is getting richer

Ration deez nutz. Hey Europe, we are the Saudi Arabia of natty over here across the pond. Don’t worry when it gets chilly - We got you boo but you’re gonna have to kick up some boo boo $$$

Let West adds this lost with the Covid 2 years lockdown cost.

NaTO needs to foot the bill. Give Putin security guarantees and this would never have happened

Cold war 2.0

Price can be lower, but companies like LOrealGroupe Nestle AUCHAN_France etc continue to sponsor russia terrorism

Is it because of Russia or western printing machine combined with globalists caused this ?

How much did it cost, for two decades of irqe and afghanistan

Here comes the scapegoating for the imminent global depression.

Russia has already cost the EU over €8 trillion. They put so much new money into circulation. How was it shared among the EU countries, since it is a common public debt, it is not known? The total loss will be €11 trillion. Excellent EU governance.

Fortunately, the sanctions of the US hegemon on Russia did not play any role.

nice, how much is it per loss of life? per side and total please.

and carbon emission is also increasing due to the war❓️🤓

Just raise taxes on the middle class to get all the money needed to recoup the loss!

StandWithUkraine

All about the money for you folks, eh? What a bunch.

The US and NATO had a chance (several chances) to stop this, didn't, and in fact did everything possible to ensure it happened.

How many trillions has Biden and the Democrats destroyed?

In stock market terms it is a Putin's Put.

The war can be ended with one well placed drone?

You mean the U.S/E.U/U.K/NATO proxy war that started in 2014 but escalated in 2022 with no regard for the rest of the world cost $2.8 trillion, isn't it? Why we cannot see Mr. Stone 2015 movie below?

The sooner we help Ukraine win the lower the impact of rebuilding on the global economy.

Lots of pockets being filled

never forget the rise of energy etc started before the war. Anyone who has some basic economics knowledge understands the cause of overrun of currency by majority democrats in parliaments.

To bad that Biden limited America's energy production right before this. Plentiful energy would have helped limit the Russian pipeline issues.

Tell us how much Biden & the democrats failed policies will cost the global economy. We will wait
