Photo: 2019/The CW In an unprecedented move for network television for all shows beside Lethal Weapon, it was announced earlier this week that Ruby Rose, the star of the CW’s newest Arrowverse series Batwoman, was leaving after one season. Her role as the leathered-up superhero would be recast for season two. While Rose and the network expressed appreciation for each other upon the split becoming public, a new TVLine report suggests that things behind the scenes were far from peachy.
The source insisted that Rose’s severe on-set injury from 2019 wasn’t the catalyst to depart — she underwent emergency surgery after herniating two discs from a stunt — but rather because she was “distressed by the long hours demanded of a lead television role” and didn’t like living in Vancouver.

She made a huge campaign and stink for this role. That reasoning seems absurd. It’s ok to quit if she said she was physically or mentally pushed too hard, if she felt unsafe, if there was abuse of power, etc. All valid. But long hours and Canada? That’s some BS.
I understand completely. I quit my job in Ohio because Ruby Rose doesn't like Vancouver.
If she didn't like living there, she didn't like living there. There are plenty of great places that people don't want to live in or realize after they have lived there that it isn't for them.
