The Rockies received an update on right-hander Tyler Kinley’s elbow injury, and the news is not good.
“Kinley had some imaging done, the last couple of days. Most notably, on Monday,” Black said before the Rockies hosted Cleveland at Coors Field. “It looks like he’s going to be out a little bit longer than we first anticipated. That’s a blow to Tyler and a blow to us.” There is a possibility that Kinley could be facing Tommy John surgery, which would rule him out for the season, but that has not been determined yet.
Losing Kinley is a major blow to Colorado’s bullpen. Kinley, along with right-hander Alex Colome, has emerged as a dependable set-up man for closer Daniel Bard.
