Rockets coach Ime Udoka’s early impressions of Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr. and other players

Porter was indeed the only Rockets player present on Wednesday, though Udoka will make it his mission in short order to get acquainted with the rest of the team. In addition to Porter, who is entering his fifth NBA season, the roster Udoka inherits contains seven players taken in the last two drafts, including Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun and Jabari Smith Jr.

“My first win with Boston was against Houston here, but it was a hard fought game,” Udoka said. “I remember Jalen hit about eight 3s on us, for a guy on the scouting report that wasn't supposed to be able to shoot. So I got an up-close look at them, watched them quite a bit this year, and then obviously when the process started, I dug into the film and really got to know the personnel much better. So as soon as the season ended, I was glad they reached out.
