For the ritual, which represents Christ’s journey and crucifixion, people paused for prayer, reflection, and devotion at various locations in downtown Rochester while raising awareness about several issues, including racism, the war in the Middle East, and the lack of affordable housing.
“We want to remember our people on the streets, the homeless, all of our people who are suffering in any way, who are having difficulty finding housing, people who are suffering with sickness,” said Sister Grace Miller, executive director,. “We want to remember all of them, especially those who have no one to pray for them or remember them.”
