WEST POINT, N.Y. — Even after Army punched in a 1-yard touchdown on the final play of the first half, capitalizing on a series of big passing plays and UTSA mistakes to take a seven-point lead into the break, Roadrunners coach Jeff Traylor was certain he had the superior team.
On a UTSA squad that expects to keep a level head in tight games, Clark said the only surprise Saturday was learning the game was over after he hauled in a 7-yard touchdown pass in overtime. Traylor said the Roadrunners returned to a run-pass option play they failed to connect on earlier in the game, and once Army packed defenders into the box, “we knew what was coming.”
“Really communicate, and keep your eyes on your assignment,” Chattman said. “They do a lot of motion and shifting, and you look one way, and then a guy is going the other way. So, we just have to focus.”
