New York An"exceedingly rare" copy of a comic book that introduced Superman for the first time has sold for a record-breaking price.
The issue of"Action Comics #1," which sold for 10 cents when it was originally released in 1938, was auctioned Tuesday for $3.25 million according to a press release from online auction house ComicConnect.com. This particular copy was"buried in a stack of old 1930s movie magazines" and was in mint condition. It has been sold at least three times before, including most recently in 2018 for more than $2 million, the broker said.
This is probably the only way to see this news on CNN.
Superman, Bitcoin edition?👀
This is fair... Something is worth exactly what is sells for. Even a children’s book...
The real question that should be asked...did they read it after buying?
What a huge fucking waste of money.
Someone has too much money 💰.
$125 is what the CREATORS of Superman were ever paid. Laughed out of every publisher in NY.
People buy things like this because have too much money/put exorbitant value on items that help no one. It’s ok to be a collector, to value things, to have what we like, but when do we prioritize life over things? Needs over overindulgences? Let my skewering begin...

Must be nice to have money to throw away. With that money, I could buy a home of my own, trade in my 24 year old car, and pay off bills with plenty left over. 😣
