WASHINGTON—Sen. Rand Paul indicated over the weekend that he would oppose President Trump’s efforts to redirect federal funds toward building a border wall, potentially forcing the president to issue his first veto.
Mr. Paul’s comments suggested he would be the fourth GOP senator to vote with Democrats on a resolution disapproving of Mr. Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the border, giving the measure sufficient support to pass. Mr. Trump has said he would veto the resolution.

There is a humanitarian crisis near the border but it is caused by putting children in cages or tent prisons where they suffer mental and sexual abuse. That crisis exists because of the Trump policy against immigrants seeking asylum.
