Protesters, law enforcement clash in downtown L.A. during protest over George Floyd's death

, a black man killed Monday after a white Minneapolis police officer pinned him to the ground with his knee.

Television footage showed the protesters blocking the freeway and confronting a California Highway Patrol patrol car. At least one patrol car was vandalized by protesters during the confrontation, and one demonstrator was injured after falling off the CHP cruiser as it drove away. That protester received medical attention; the person’s condition was not released.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued a citywide tactical alert, and officers from the previous shift were kept over to allow more officers to respond to the area. Dozens of officers were sent to the scene to provide crowd control. “I’m concerned. They have exhibited a significant degree of violence,” LAPD Asst. Chief Robert Arcos said.Charlie Morales, who look part in the freeway protest, said that the CHP cruiser drove by trying to scatter the demonstrators and that some of them converged on the vehicle.

My son was shot 12 times by 2 white cops on may 8 2019 in seattle. My son was raised in burbank ca. One of the cops that shot 10 shots at my son has killed 2 other black men. People are tired of the lame excuses for killer cops. Ryan Matthew Smith was 31.

If I was on the freeway I would not even be mad about it. I've been stuck in one of these protests a few years ago in our local city streets for a local shooting. It is a small price to pay for society.

This is why everyone doesn't trust us police officers. To any and all officers in the USA, you are given a piece of metal and a gun. You immediately think you are able to do anything you want. You are not above the law, you think you can get away with anything.
