Lawmakers consider 'common sense' laws to ease prison sentences for minorsFor the money Mississippi spends each year to imprison a kid, it could have paid the annual tuition to a state college — twice. It literally makes me sick to know we’d be the 2nd country with the highest number of imprisoned people. I’m not excusing their behavior but why do we always give the harshest sentence possible? Why are we like this? We have to do better. 🤣🤣 In your world, these young killers would get a lollypop and a soda followed by a slap on the wrist before they were released to terrorize their communities again 🤣🤣 I'm 100% in favor of further expanding parole in our State. Especially for lifers & Juveniles. So I'm all for the two bills regarding it. However, according to the article the human brain doesn’t fully develop until a person’s mid-20s...so shouldn't the age range be 25 and under.
