Competition for a spot on the 2023 Formula 1 racing schedule heading up.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali told Liberty Media's investors late last week that demand from potential new Grands Prix hosts is"very, very high."

The Prince of Monaco has intervened directly in the Principality's troubled negotiations with Formula 1 over a new contract for 2023. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali told Liberty Media's investors late last week that demand from potential new Grands Prix hosts is"very, very high," amid rumors Paul Ricard in France, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, but also Monaco may lose their spots on the schedule.

That recognition is now in doubt as race promoter the Automobile Club de Monaco negotiates with Domenicali.
