President Biden, Gov. Newsom, others react to death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein

– President Joe Biden, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria were among the many politicians who offered their condolences following the passing of Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Friday.

Feinstein was the first woman mayor of San Francisco and the first woman president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. President Biden said in a joint statement with first lady Jill Biden that Feinstein was a pioneering American."A true trailblazer. And for Jill and me, a cherished friend." There is simply nobody who possessed the strength, gravitas, and fierceness of Dianne Feinstein. U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu posted on social media that"California and the country lost a barrier-breaker and an icon."
