PREP GOLF ROUNDUP: Pike Liberal Arts’ Prestwood wins medalist honors

Staff Reports Pike Liberal Arts golfer Braden Prestwood fired a 66 on the Troy Country Club course to earn medalist honors Monday during a 10-team meet that featured 53 golfers.

People are also reading… Dothan was led by Alex Broadaway with an 80 and Gabriel Medina with an 81. Sam Broadaway posted an 84, George Brannon an 85 and Brodie Blount an 87 for DHS. Chumney’s round edged out Geneva’s Colton Yarbrough, who finished with an 81. Headland’s Jacob Pruitt and Rehobeth A’s Kaiden DeCapua both had an 87 to finish tied for third. Cowdery Merrill of Rehobeth B shot an 88 for fifth place.

Rehobeth’s Hixson wins junior high meet: Rehobeth’s Jace Hixson won a nine-hole junior high match at Dothan National on Monday, firing a 40 score to beat out teammate Goodson Perry for the top spot. Perry had a 46.Rehobeth’s A won the team competition with a 201 score and Rehobeth’s B team had 250 total.
