PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP: McReynolds' six RBI sparks Geneva win

Staff Reports Tayshun McReynolds delivered a three-run double and a three-run single for six runs batted in to spark Geneva in its first win of the season, an 8-5 victory over Rehobeth, in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

For Ashford, Wesley McClendon had a double, while Coy Paramore and Hunter Jordan had a single for the three Yellow Jacket hits. Pike Liberal Arts 7, Dale County 1: John Lott earned three hits, including two doubles, in four at-bats and drove in two runs to lead the Patriots.

Carroll 9, Eufaula 0: Caleb Hicks and Tyson Burks combined on a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts to lead Carroll. Cottonwood 15, Houston County 0: Ethan Simmons and Klete Meadows combined on a four-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts. Both pitched two innings, and both struck out four. Meadows walked one.

Landon Langley was 2-for-2, Will Jackson 2-for-3 with a RBI and Zeb Green, Porter Nelson and Holt Blair all had a hit and RBI for Opp.Montgomery Academy 11, Pike County 1: The Bulldogs had only one hit – a single by Britt Albritton in the third inning.Kinston 8, Pleasant Home 7: The Bulldogs scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to break out of a tie and earn the Class 1A, Area 2 win.

Elba did have three players reach base on walks in Jay Wilson , Ty Sieving and Brady Johnson. Two players – Johnson and Powell Bane – reached on a hit by a pitch.Four players had two hits each for ECS -- Kaiden Scott, Gabe Semiens, Ben King and Asher Puent. Puent drove in a run.
