Plano police say a man they believe is responsible for a series of unprovoked attacks across DFW is now in custody.

Charles Murray, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was arrested at a home in Dallas.Police say a family member watching the news recognized Murray and called 911. The family member said they heard him say "he had hurt multiple people and didn't know why" and that he "tossed the hammer." Murray is accused of violently attacking a stranger inside a busy RaceTrac gas station located off Coit Road on Tuesday.

Chapman says a relative of Murray saw him on the news."They were able to recognize him. They called it in to Dallas PD. Dallas PD went and made contact with this person. We confirmed that this was somebody we were looking for. Detectives were able to get a warrant and put him into custody," she explained.Police say he was known to be homeless in the past and rode a DART train to commit the crime.
