Trent Grisham, Luke Voit return to Padres lineup as they start two-game series at Diamondbacks

Grisham was scratched from Saturday’s lineup with shoulder soreness and did not start Sunday, but he entered in the ninth inning as a defensive replacement and would have been allowed to hit for himself if he came up in the order.

Nursing both a hamstring and a calf, Voit sat twice last week, although he struck out as a pinch-hitter on Sunday. Voit is 1-for-19 with 12 strikeouts over his last six games. He will bat sixth as the designated hitter, behind Grisham, left fielder Jurickson Profar, second baseman Jake Cronenworth, catcher Jorge Alfaro and Eric Hosmer at first base.Right fielder Nomar Mazara, third baseman Ha-Seong Kim and shortstop CJ Abrams will round out the lineup.
