Employees of Retreat Behavioral Health in Lancaster County haven't been paid.

A Lancaster County judge appointed a temporary receiver to oversee the company that runs Retreat Behavioral Health operations in Pennsylvania,

Conrad said appointing a receiver was a drastic remedy, but that not appointing a receiver would cause greater damage. Because its account had been frozen, Schorr had been “personally providing the funds necessary for to meet their bi-weekly payroll and related obligations. ... Mr. Schorr has funded a total of three payroll and benefit periods and has contributed a total of $4,100,000 since Lapis froze the funds at Fulton, all in an effort to keep Defendants’ doors open and protect the health, safety, and welfare of their patients.

Conrad acknowledged the suicides of Schorr and Korogodsky at the start of Thursday’s hearing and noted that the company was in disarray. Silberstein acknowledged NR Pennsylvania Associates had not made any payments toward Lapis’ $4.8 million judgment, nor met payroll in recent weeks.
