Opinion: When a running back wanted to kneel during the national anthem, his coaches joined. The whole team of 8 and 9-year-olds soon followed. Then, some parents began to yell profanities. nprscottsimon reflects on what they could learn from their kids.

Coach Thomas told his running back,"I'll kneel with you." An assistant coach joined them. Coach Thomas told his players that no one had to kneel, but soon the whole team had joined them, and held hands. They were teammates. Then, parents got involved. Some in the stands began to yell profanities, according to reporting by Ellie Rushing for the Philadelphia."Get the f--- up!" shouted a father who is also a member of the league's football board. Another board member, who is also the cheerleading coach, stalked into the field and pulled her son up by his shoulder pads.

nprscottsimon . DEFUND NPR! .

nprscottsimon Also, just as a blanket statement: don’t yell profanities at a children’s event. Just don’t do it. Just don’t yell profanities toward or around children while you watch them play a game.

nprscottsimon Good for these kids andthe coach for supportinghis player. They seem to have a great team culture that some parentssimply don't understand. I'm not sure why the anthem is being played at youth sports, let alone any sport, to begin with.

nprscottsimon 'Perhaps a lesson for parents, too, to stay in the stands and just watch their children.' Perhaps those children would have never been playing the sport in the first place had those parents stayed back and just 'watched' them instead of molding them.

nprscottsimon Now imagine 8 and 9-year-olds with, say, pro-life signs. What would your reaction be? Would it be 'these kids show such empathy and maturity!', or would it be 'how were these young children indoctrinated, do they fully understand what they are doing, and who put them up to this?'

nprscottsimon Next: voting rights for 8 and 9-year-olds.

nprscottsimon shows how well 8 and 9 yos have been indoctrinated

nprscottsimon Aaaaaaamd , emails! Come on man! Stop being spineless npr!

nprscottsimon Profanity? Like the sweet gentle antifa kids?

nprscottsimon

nprscottsimon What parents in Franklin Tn think is a good idea to teach their children.

nprscottsimon Should they learn to follow along without thinking?

nprscottsimon You guys have fallen down the rabbit hole.

nprscottsimon They can learn to be obedient to the mainstream propaganda machine...I can see where you would support that.

inspiredcat nprscottsimon If my child kneeled during the national anthem, he'd get the swiftest kid in the ass he's ever gotten.

nprscottsimon Okay, so when your kid is more adult than you...

nprscottsimon Why must there be a Compulsory Loyalty Ritual before a kid’s football game anyway? Why can’t football be just football?

nprscottsimon They sure won't learn it from the LOSERS at NPR, Here's the formula for ya, BidenLaptopMatters + BurnLootMurder Gang = BLM CRAZY AS CRACKHEAD LOSERS

nprscottsimon Dang kids being empathetic and believing in justice. How dare this 8 year old black kid be thoughtful! How dare his coaches support him. teRRoRiStS. I got good money the 1st person to cry about my post has tweeted positively about that racist murderer, Kyle Rittenhouse.

nprscottsimon

nprscottsimon To take a knee? That's activism?

nprscottsimon Yes, you should support your kids when they disrespect the country that has allowed them the opportunity to exercise their God-given rights at an age when they know very little about what is going on in life.

nprscottsimon If that happened to me, I would take my kid (a valuable player) right off the field, walk away and never come back.

nprscottsimon People on here who are upset by kids kneeling to protest injustice talking about beating people up and whooping their little asses. Why all the violence, Trumpers? Why you so upset if you’re winning? Seriously, WHY ALL THE VIOLENCE?

nprscottsimon Someone should call CPS on those parents yelling profanities at the children. Imagine how they are in private to their own children that they’re comfortable doing it in public to the children of strangers.

nprscottsimon Noooo!! Not parents!! What?

nprscottsimon “Shut up and watch the game”

nprscottsimon Free speech? No, land of guns and violence. Don't me.

nprscottsimon Creepy adults using kids as human shields. Deeply, disturbing evil.

nprscottsimon In my experience, problems in football games are NEVER usually the fault of the people actually participating in them.

nprscottsimon The youth worship has to stop.

nprscottsimon There is Hope For The Future of America✔️✔️

zmanisles nprscottsimon So it looks like people all around, from the players, coaches, and fans all used their free speech rights. Ahhh isn't America beautiful?

nprscottsimon Modeling the behavior of NFL players who choose to disrespect the flag and the country, is the wrong thing to teach 8 and 9 year old kids. They have no clue why they are kneeling and bringing politics into youth football is just plain stupid.

nprscottsimon If i saw one of those kids kneeling, Id literally, not an exaggeration, run on the field and pile drive that sack of S into the dirt.

nprscottsimon Good. Those kids are programed by their rworded parents. GOD FORBID we teach kids to love the culture theyre apart of.

nprscottsimon To follow blindly?

nprscottsimon Wtf are 8 and 9 yo's kneeling over. What a fucking joke. America is the laughing stock of the world.

nprscottsimon I remember when Tom Tebow kneeled for his faith and the NFL and people demanded that this shouldn’t happen...

nprscottsimon Less and less freedom of speech and assembly in this country. This isn't North Korea. Kneel all you want.

nprscottsimon When Tim Tebow knelt, y’all went apeshit crazy.

nprscottsimon jim crow was suppressed only.. Trump brought to the open

nprscottsimon Mature adults setting an example, right?

nprscottsimon People shouldn't be more outraged over disorder than they are with injustice. But that's the s-hole country we live in.

nprscottsimon Good for the parents - this false narrative is ridiculous.

nprscottsimon Do the kids even have an informed opinion on why they are kneeling or is it just because their heroes on TV do it?

nprscottsimon TrumpMeltdown

nprscottsimon Of course it came from the parents the ignorance how are we going to change the world if we don't allow our children to take the lead

nprscottsimon Parents teaching this garbage to their kids should be locked up.

nprscottsimon They won’t

nprscottsimon Who complained when Tim Tebow took a knee for Christ?

nprscottsimon Opinion : the child only took a knee after his parents told him to do it for attention.

nprscottsimon So these parents are dumb, but what would happen if the kids would have stopped and prayed and parents would have done the same. We would never know about it because you would not write about it. This is why so many are angry and don’t trust anyone.

nprscottsimon whoooooweee today’s parents...🤦‍♀️

nprscottsimon Opinion: football sucks anyway with other without “protests”.

nprscottsimon This is so sad but telling.

Some Parents Want Schools Reopened as the Pandemic Drags OnParents voiced frustration with remote learning, even as coronavirus cases rise across much of the country Mostly privileged parents I’m sure. I work at a Midwestern school. (I won’t say which, Bc I need this job). Not even two weeks of opening up a teacher called out with “Covid-like” symptoms. Needless to say, her students came into my class for indoor lunch the very next day so the sub could have his break. FML

Don’t Ask The Parent Of An Only Child Why They Aren’t Having Another KidBefore asking why someone isn’t planning on having a second child, consider the following ... My Mom had medical reasons Definitely do not. Do you know the number of times that total strangers called me selfish!
