No wonder some people with no change in withholding from last year while earned income is about the same are owing like $5K+ in taxes.
So people increased their deductions 5% for withholding while income tax refunds fell 13%. So govt took in more revenue from individuals hoping to offset owing IRS next year & govt returned less money to people in tax refunds. Lose/Lose for avg American as predicted

Yep, I paid a lot in taxes this year. So I'm cutting back on my consumer consumption or running up debt this year. We'll see what happens to revenues next year.
