Covid-19, this time by way of its Omicron variant, has yet again upended life in New York City, with case counts surging ahead of the holidays.
Residents are lining up at testing sites, with queues that wrap around city blocks in many places. Some restaurants have closed, and performances on and off Broadway have been canceled as staff test positive for Covid-19.
