A court in Ohio has installed a vending machine on its 6th floor that offers free health care items such as pregnancy tests, naloxone, and condoms. The machine aims to remove barriers to accessing these resources and eliminate the stigma associated with seeking them. To access the products, individuals must answer a few voluntary questions, and all information is kept strictly confidential.

The machine is on the 6th floor of the court and holds pregnancy tests , naloxone, condoms, and more — all for free.The hope is that it removes barriers to items that can help keep people healthy and safeIt's a court-sponsored resource center that connects people to medical-assisted treatment, assessments, and hope.

"It really eliminates the stigma of having access to these resources. Some folks don't want to go in and say I need a pregnancy test. Or I need a fentanyl test," Topping said. "Having it in a court, especially outside of the March resource center, we can help to reduce that stigma." To access the free products, you first have to answer a few voluntary questions about gender, age, ethnicity, zip code, and if they have ever overdosed. All information is strictly confidential.

"I know folks get a little concerned when they have to give information. What it does, it helps us to see is this thing really being useful? Is it effective? Is it in a community or area where it's being used? Topping explained."The launch date was the 13th of March, and by now, we've had about 22 individuals who've been set up with it," Topping said.
