Oda's One Piece Film RED Storyboard Finally Explains Shanks And Uta's Timeline

However, Film: Red's unique structure together with the inclusion of a new canon character left quite a bit of confusion about the exact timeline of events.

Moreover, the storyboards also reveal Shanks' origins and family ties, including the exact age at which Shanks was found by Roger at God Valley, how old he was when the Roger Pirates disbanded, and when exactly he found Uta and took her to Foosha Village. It is especially interesting how Oda has managed to fit Uta into Luffy's past without interfering with Luffy's canonical backstory or creating any plotholes. Film: Red's storyboards are incredibly thorough and detailed with even the smallest of events laid out for context which only goes to show Oda's meticulous writing.
