A new study predicts frequent flooding on U.S. coasts in the mid-2030s — due to rising sea levels fueled by climate change and a routine 'wobble' in the moon's orbit which will push high tides higher.

It’s always so easy to tell from the comments who has actually read the article and who hasn’t.

So we go into space set up a retractable reflective sun shields that can be deployed any time. And we Use them to cool the world. GLOBAL shading.

Start planning to move away from the coast lines.

Say 'but bye' to Miami & New Orleans as well as a good portion of NYC.

Miami and Keys are already flooding with certain high tides, should be interesting and expensive

Yeah okee dokee

They'll relocate to the Great Lakes Region, raise costs of living 200%, then bitch at us for not being as cultured as the coast. This will, of course, only be after the desert southwest (yes, SoCal, that's you) tries to steal our water for their pools and golf courses.

It’s always climate change. Always.

Now it’s 2030?! Al Gore said this would happen in 2010. Why do goal posts keep moving?

YESTERDAY - NASA reported the moon wobble, and it was NOT routine but a concern that would cause flooding in the 2030s. There was no mention of Climate Change. Rewriting science now NPR?

We're all going to die!

This is what happens when science-denying businessmen find their way into public service & why we must put the EnvironmentFirst. Under capitalism, nature has no value until it is exploited, and that is the root of our ecological crises.

''wobble' in the moon's orbit' Im sure using less fossil fuels will convince the moon not to wobble.

with everything that's happening the moons' orbit starts to wobble

Like I have been saying for years, dire effects by 2050, not 2100.

First it was global cooling, then global warming, now climate change. I guess climate change is a public health crisis right?

my house is on a hill but one of the two streets out floods all the time as it is. If the other does I need I guess a jetski.

No one knows the future. No one.

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesI just love that conservatives will lose their minds. Innovative schools would have Asian American history, Mexican American history, Chicano history, Hispanic American, African American history. Which is American history. How about Irish-American, German-American, Short-people- American, Blonde-American? Or we can just chill out and teach American history . . .
