Mark Schand, who served nearly three decades for a murder he didn't commit, was awarded $27 million — $1 million for each year he was in prison — by a federal jury.

yay money.......they Stole his Life

money would never bring back the lost years but ....

Good for him, it’s only right

goldietaylor If, that was not a challenge of faith, then what is?

The fact that he served 30 effing years and he's only in his 50s is just heartbreaking.

To God be the Glory!

Sure hes got a shitload of money, but the most valuable thing we all have is time. They took that from him. The prosecution should have to spend a little of their time in the same prison. Maybe they'll learn something.

Money will never replace life that he missed.

This is a good start.

I’m sure he’d rather have had his freedom but since he got totally screwed over -I hope his life is now filled with as much fun and happiness as absolutely wonderfully possible.

🤮

The money is nice , but readjusting to society after losing 3 decades of his life ...not so much , I sure hope he has a support system in place

Fantastic!!! Hopefully, the others who were wrongly imprisoned will be freed and awarded millions as well.

Would you give a 16 year old that has never driven an Indy Race car? How is this guy going to manage $27 million without a crash and burn?

give him $270m

He will be found dead with an over dose in a matter of days/weeks/months/ or years...no way he knows how to handle that kind of wealth.

Can't buy the time back, but sure can enjoy one or two years with that money.

Good but it can never make up for lost time.

Not enough but it is a start. He shouldn’t have to pay taxes on it.

Good for him! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

There is no amount of money that could replace what the court took away from him. 30yrs of life is irreplaceable.

the people responsible for his false conviction should be put in jail for 30 years

I would do 5 years for 5 million

Blew it on bitches last night.

Vegas for the bling!

If only money could actually undo his suffering.

NPR Choice pageStop bending over and giving them what they want. JFC. Pompeo is now complicit with Barr in the Trump coverup. [Remember Nixon's AG went to jail. Now Pompeo may make history with a jail term as well.] Volker will be the 'John Dean' of the Trump impeachment trial. Volker may well be the 'John Dean' of the Trump impeachment trial. Remember Nixon's AG, John Mitchell went to jail (along with a gaggle of accomplices), and Barr/Pompeo may make history as they both get locked up. The irony is poetic justice.
