Jimmy Aldaoud came to the U.S. legally when he was a baby. He spoke no Arabic and had never been to Iraq. At 41, he was deported to Iraq. He died two months later. Many deportees arrive without money, valid IDs or knowledge of the language and country.

moorehn It’s hard to believe that this was once America.

More un-american repug policy.

So wrong!

tanita_tikaram Land of the Free? I think not FFS !!!

Comment peut-on faire une chose pareille? il était de Nationalité américaine? C'est inhumain de faire une chose comme çà! 👎👎👎

Third week in a roll! Dude was a criminal. Next!

redsarah99 Why can we not just acept that we are one race, the Human race. Borders are a man made construct. Religion can be seen the same by non believers and believers. Everyone should have the same rights. Deportation is all too often deadly.

janearraf This is not accurate: 'Rayes served four years in a U.S. prison for insurance fraud. ' It was assault & arson. Now I am questioning all your other facts. Which is sad, because I enjoyed being a guest on your show before.

Came to the US legally, didn't become citizen after 41 years. Yeah maybe become a citizen, what a screwed up family.

The indiscriminate policy of deportations by the American State Department is a shame. It does not take into account human lives!

If you are here illegally, then you are breaking the law and should be deported!

Resist___45 This is so criminal

Isn't this serious human rights violation? Dump them in a foreign land with NO identification paper where they don't speak the language, small amount of medicine, probably no money, and no way to move anywhere else.

lsarsour While this story is tragic, he had 41 years to become a legal citizen. Seems like enough time to me.

Abject cruelty. 💔

Didn’t he break into someone’s home illegally?

That made me cry I feel so bad for them😢

Did he speak another language as a baby? Where did he come from, and how was it legal?

So awful what we have become under this administration !

Mar A Lago blames Iran

Old news

Serves him right being born in another country how dare he

I never want to hear from the “pro-life” crowd who will weep and wail over the unborn but won’t lift a finger to help an actual person being sent to their death.

and why was he deported? because he did crimes

This makes me sad but gives me hope that Melania can still be deported.

Are we supposed to feel pity towards an illegal alien who spent his time committing felonies rather than attempting to become an American citizen?

They should make THEIR country great again. If its valuble to you you'll fight for lt. Like OUR GUYS have done for generations

Too bad we can’t deport the trumps and their filthy scum supporters to Saudi Arabia or Yemen or some other hotbed of violence and wrath.

lsarsour TomiLahren explain this TomiLahren So the policies you support, encourage death on innocents who had no control over the reason they were deported

I am so, so sorry that this happened because of our prejudiced Pres and his henchman. Much love to his family.

NOT so many have extensive and violent criminal histories. 'Jimmy' did. You either omitted this intentionally, didn't think it was important, or didn't do ANY real reporting. THAT is why we call you FakeNews. Because you are.

lsarsour Why didn’t you detail the multiple felony convictions?

Hasn't this article been posted at least three times by NPR in the last week?

Awe now you are leaving a bit out. God doesn’t like liars.....

Q: Should any of us actually be shocked at this point? There’s no line drawn in the sand; such is the nature of broad generalizing and discrimination, there’s only the matter of “whose next?”.

lsarsour What a shame. you guys need to stop killing and hating Jews and blowing yourselves up. JumaaneWilliams

Horrific disgrace.

lsarsour This, is emblematic of the high work ethics and the sheer earnestness which ICE attends to its devoirs, when they deport a, Christian who wasn't a citizen, a known felon, just as they would a jehadi, and is a reproof to the unreasonable fanatics, many of who occupy high offices.

And yet Karma is still kicking the can with Trump.

Makes me so sad and angry!

michikokakutani What the hell has Steven Miller and Trump done to Americans, to this man and how much longer are we willing to take it?

Horrific RemoveTrumpNow

So when will NPR do a story on Juan Sanchez, the six time deported illegal alien accused of murdering a Colorado grandmother?

Oh so he was not a citizen and a criminal which is why he was deported. Never bothered to become a citizen, could obey the law. No sympathy.

Yep, goes to show that bad people live longer in countries with a working justice system. No wonder people are literally dying whilst trying to get into Trump's America. God bless America

Then we should be spending time/money trying to educate them on applying for citizenship. The whining about deportation holds no credibility if we aren't making other efforts.

I’m going to spend 2020 just tweeting “also horrible” on all the stories that are un-American.

😴😴😴

lsarsour Here for 40 + years and never applied for citizenship? So he wasn't an American Citizen. Why didn't he apply ?

I truly curious how one comes here legally, no ID? Highly unlikely, even decades ago. It is heart breaking, DACA was a temporary fix and yet it didn't cover all. It's the responsibility of Congress, but all they do is deflect Report on that, it's important.

Lies by omission are still lies. Please show this man’s arrest record.

lsarsour Terrible loss for sure. I can’t help wonder why never got legal status or what steps he took to get legal status? If he was here illegally why are you trying to assign guilt to the u.s? These laws aren’t here to please the people who come here illegally.

😔

It’s what Jesus wouldve wanted right maga

If you support building walls instead of bridges, putting children in cages, or separating families because of a status written on a paper, you are not an American and should be ashamed of your very existence.

Wait, he was convicted of multiple felonies, he could have become a citizen otherwise. Guess crime doesn't pay.

This is heartbreaking.

lsarsour Little by little, a little becomes a lot. Please help with Max's spinal surgery costs. He had a rough final month of life...😔 Please donate or share if you can

If he came in legally, why was he deported?

What the actual fek is wrong with our country

Is Jimmy a Muslim name? 🤔

This is not what justice looks like.
