Notre Dame Showed Heart And Character Against Duke, But Work Is Needed

Notre Dame seemed on the verge of defeat on multiple occasions, which followed a first half in which the Irish failed to put Duke away.

That's what good teams do, they learn how to win football games even when they don't bring their A game ..... or in Notre Dame's case, when they bring their C game, at best. Against Duke, it was Notre Dame that built a 10-0 lead, only to see the Blue Devils rally back to take a fourth quarter lead. This time, it was Notre Dame that showed the heart and football character needed to overcome the complete loss of momentum - and the lead.

A week after almost losing to a very mediocre Missouri team, Georgia bounced back and trounced Auburn 42-10, beat Vanderbilt 55-0 a week after that, smashed Florida 42-20 the next week, and then pounded Tennessee 27-13 on the first Saturday of November. Tennessee was ranked No. 1 at the time of that matchup.
