Rebeka Mikulasikova scored 25 points and Taylor Mikesell added 14 as the Buckeyes beat Nebraska 76-67 on Saturday.

"We’re lucky that we’re learning these lessons with wins and not losses," Mikesell said Jan. 8."... I think starting with a better sense of urgency will be more beneficial for us."

From the opening seconds of the game, Ohio State was in control in a way it hasn't been at the beginning of recent games. The Buckeyes opened on a 6-0 run in the first two minutes and led 13-2 before Nebraska called a timeout less than halfway into the first quarter. In recent games, the Buckeyes have used the third quarter as a springboard after trailing at halftime, but Saturday, that wasn't the case. Nebraska opened the quarter on a 7-0 run to get within three points, forcing coach Kevin McGuff into calling an early timeout.

Out of the timeout, guard Rikki Harris made a 3-pointer to stop the drought for the Buckeyes, but the Cornhuskers kept the game close for another several minutes. Ohio State pulled away thanks to Mikulasikova, as she made a jump shot from the paint and a 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions, then added two free throws and another jumper shortly after.
