Texas can make another big statement Saturday by going on the road and beating No. 11...

AUSTIN, TEXAS - OCTOBER 15: Bijan Robinson #5 of the Texas Longhorns runs the ball while defended by Anthony Johnson Jr. #1 of the Iowa State Cyclones in the second half at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on October 15, 2022 in Austin, Texas. AUSTIN — Texas understands what’s at stake in Saturday’s game at No. 11 Oklahoma State.

Here’s what to watch for when Texas and Oklahoma State collide Saturday afternoon at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.:Oklahoma State’s offense is as formidable as any in the conference — with Spencer Sanders at quarterback. Without the redshirt senior, well, who knows? But without Sanders, this offense takes on an entirely different dynamic. Oklahoma State’s No. 2 is Gunnar Gundy, a second-year walk-on and the son of coach Mike Gundy. And he would represent a steep downgrade from Sanders, the first-team All-Big 12 quarterback last year.

Remove Sanders from the equation, and the Cowboys are averaging 3.8 yards per carry through six games. Leading rusher Dominic Richardson has averaged fewer than 3.6 yards per carry in each of his past four games, and he’s the only Cowboys running back with at least 20 attempts this season.Texas is 1-5 in true road games under coach Steve Sarkisian. That includes this year’s loss to Texas Tech, in which the Longhorns let a two-touchdown advantage go to waste.

Wyoming transfer Isaiah Neyor was supposed to form a scintillating triumvirate with Whittington and Worthy. But Texas has been hunting for someone to fill Neyor’s role since he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in preseason practice.
