IIRC it's been established that SARS-CoV-2 microbes can remain active on certain surfaces for up to 48-72hrs? That's certainly within the timeframe of international air freight. Is it possible that the loading crew at the point of departure may have contaminated the aircraft?

A South Korean man arrived in NZ before the borders closed and stayed here until July - so was here when there was no known community transmission. But when he arrived in S Korea he tested positive for Covid twice.

I don’t know how long it takes for freight to get here from China. China has 761 active cases (not many for a country of its size). I’d venture a guess that it is highly improbable that this came from freight handling, and it much more likely to have been passed by a human being

The virus could have been dormant or hiding in the body like HIV is able to do to avoid detection in the blood. It's why the word cured is never used.
