Newly reported Covid-19 cases are holding at an elevated level, while more states take steps to open vaccinations to younger residents

. More than a fifth of New Mexico residents are now fully vaccinated, while in Utah, the figure is just over 10%, according to CDC data.by the end of his first 100 days in office, doubling a goal he initially set. An average of 2.5 million doses a day have been administered over the past week., as vaccine supply from the federal government increases and as states attempt to meet a May 1 target, set by the Biden administration, to make vaccines eligible to all adults.

About half of states will have expanded eligibility to all adults by mid-April, Jeffrey Zients, Mr. Biden's coronavirus response coordinator, said Friday.
