Bothers them to hear a foreign language in public, does it? I might not either speak or understand it all that much myself, but one would be hard pressed to call Spanish, for example, a foreign language anywhere in the southwestern UnitedStates. Kids need it for school/work.

It's because we can't understand. Unless it's a beautiful woman speaking French and we don't want to understand.
