Women With Mental Illness'Women with mental illness are an understudied and underserved group with more than run-of-the-mill depression and anxiety.' Here's what we know. They are seemingly the only gender that gets taken seriously. They get hospitalised for a breakup: whilst men are turned away, and ultimately results in them 90% of the time killing themselves - making up the understudied group that tops the list for under-diagnosed depression. “... run-of-the-mill depression and anxiety...” is really unhelpful to anyone that has actual depression and anxiety disorder. Not occasional sadness and some social awkwardness + work stress... no reference ‘lit suggest hallucinations after ST’; not all women - AH bc of ST!? Historically they were placed in asylums whilst their husbands could carry on having affairs. More women given ect than men. Psychiatrists often male. I have been studying history of the asylums this week ☺️
