An Arizona mom was arrested after she said she accidentally left her baby locked in a hot car in a Target parking lot, according to authorities.
Surveillance video showed the baby's mother, 39-year-old Holli Platt, going into Target with three of her kids at 4:08 p.m. -- 18 minutes before the baby was rescued, officials said. Platt told police she had put the baby in the backseat, and when she parked at Target she was distracted by her other children, according to the probable cause statement.
Platt was arrested on a charge of child abuse, and made her initial court appearance from jail on Wednesday.
The mug shot screams guilty not memory loss
Buy a Chevy- tells you to check your backseat for child before exiting.
I don’t understand how you can ever forget your child, especially leaving them locked in a hot car
What makes people do this? With all the deaths and sensless acts of neglect and/or intentional cruelty that have happened already? Something is fundimentally wrong with the way people are motivated today. People would rather cradle and coo at their phones instead of their kids.
Accident my ass. Those dead eyes are as dry as could be. Not a trace of oh my god what could have happened.
Holli Platt was 'distracted by her other children' is not an excuse to forget the baby. Janette Fennell blaming the car industry is ridiculous (and, I am no fan of the car industry). There has been advice on what to do to remind you of a child in the car that anyone could do.
Waiting for you to blame Trump.... C'mon... It's in your playbook.
this is a crime.
not buying this as an accident.. no
Not on board with this trend in 'journalism' where we shame ordinary citizens who do something stupid by posting their picture all over social media. The court of public opinion lacks facts, is usually wrong and, let's face it, is extremely brutal. Let real courts handle it.
NO EXCUSES....🐻😡😡😡😡
She forgot?
So she got the older kids out but not the baby? At least he's still alive.
I wish someone could explain how this could even happen.
leticia08612715 I don’t believe it.
I continue to be amazed that people say they forget their kids. Most kids can’t stand their car seats and are not quiet while in them. Just don’t get it.
That’s not an acceptable accident. Sorry. I just don’t by these stories.
let’s all shake our head 😦
This was no accident. She was either negligent and they need to investigate whether her children are safe in her care or if there has been any other child abuse caused by those woman or she intentionally wanted to kill her baby.
is not an accident but an incident of bad parenting
It was no accident, you don't leave your baby in the car when you have three others , you know that babies there .
the kid didnt die. slap her on the wrist, hit her with social worker visits. who knows, they might still survive her yet.
Why are people so stupid?
So this dumb ass does this and we want hang her, which we should, but a person shoots humans and it all our presidents fault? Many more examples of the same
It's never an accident
And I have a bridge to sell
And you call yourself a mother?.
Luckily, the baby is OK. The mom must be feeling sick about it. It was NOT intentional. It was an accident, one that happens all too often w/tragic endings. These negative comments aren't necessary & show a genuine lack of understanding. I know how easily it can happen.
Did this just not happen in the past or did it not get reported? Seriously, how does this happen? My mother took us everywhere, she had no choice. No car seats, no helmets, no safety devices. Never left one of the 3 of us behind.
Baby needs to go to family and friends. She needs psychological care and support.
Bet she had her cell phone with her though. Should never be able to have any of her kids. Unbelieveable.
May be she forgot
Only a negligent parent would do such a thing to their child. She could have killed that child and needs to have her day in court with a jury of twelve.
How tf you 'accidentally' lock a whole baby up in a car😒
Accidentally? Don't think so. You mean to tell me her 3 other kids didn't speak up. Or did she tell them he'll be fine we won't be long.
Stupid mummies everywhere these days.
How tf you 'accidentally' lock a baby up in a car ? So she didn't realize the baby was not in her arms when ? FOH
On the hottest day of the year....
How the hell is this and accident!!!
Why is every single approach to a problem in America ‘resolved’ by arresting someone? It’s insane.
Lock her up in the hot room
Accidentally forget about the bitch.
Should be more responsible.
In Arizona, I means killing.
Accidentally? She forgot her baby is in the car like it was a house key.
“Accidentally”
arizona 🤣🤣
We’re sick and tired of stupid people leaving/forgetting their children in cars.
accidentally my ass. no mother forgets her baby anywhere. take the baby into foster custody. this is a possible attempted murder.
Accidently...... 🙄🤔
Wow. This isn't exactly forgetting your purse or phone in the car...
These incidents are not, I repeat, not accidents. The parent does not want to go through the process of unhooking the chair, shop reattach the child to the car seat. States must pass 'Child Hot Car Abandonment' Laws. One year imprisonment in death life without parole.
How in world you can forget? you seems to be young not old etc. This excuse should be denied.
Probably getting her Oxi prescription refilled..
Yeah it’s not that hot in Arizona What is wrong with people ...
You accidentally locked your car - with your kids inside? Call Child Services!
She probably got 'accidentally' pregnant as well.
Hillary voter
I'll take a wild guess and say it was an accident. These people continue to get away with this, I don't understand what's happening.
It's time to start with serious criminal charges for these parents
No one 'accidentally' forgets their child.
How do you 'accidentally' forget your child?
🤨😖🥵
Stupid people bet they never forget their phone
